Product Description
Common use
Serevent is bronchodilator which used to prevent asthma attacks. It will have no effect if asthma attacks have already started. It works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing, which helps to control or prevent asthma symptoms. This drug also is used to treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) including emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

Dosage and directions
Consult with your doctor before using. Usual dose depends on your previous treatments for asthma. Use no more than was prescribed. You will get best result using it every day 2 time per day ( approximately 12 hours apart, in the morning and evening). Always activate aerosol inhaler in a level, horizontal position. Serevent must be shaken thoroughly before each use. Avoid contacting with eyes.

Precautions
Seriously worsening asthma is a dangerous-even life-threatening-condition that needs immediate medical attention. Consult to your doctor if your short-acting bronchodilator is becoming less effective or you need more inhalations than usual. Also consider it a warning sign if you need 4 or more inhalations in 24-hours period for 2 days or more in a row, or find that you are finishing a 200-dose canister in less than 8 weeks.

Contraindications
Servent is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to salmeterol or any of its components.

Drug interactions
Serevent interact with the following medicines: airway-opening medications such as Alupent, Proventil, and Ventolin; blood pressure medications known as beta blockers, including Inderal, Lopressor, and Tenormin; MAO inhibitors such as the antidepressants Marplan, Nardil, and Parnate; Tricyclic antidepressants such as Elavil and Tofranil; water pills (diuretics) such as furosemide (Lasix) and hydrochlorothiazide (HydroDIURIL). Also note that interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. As usual it affects the the effect of drugs, so consult with your doctor about how it interactions are being managed or should be managed.


Possible side effects
They may include all types of an allergic reaction. Also the most possible side effects include:
chest pain, fast or pounding heartbeats, tremors, shaking, or restless feeling;
skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness;
wheezing, choking, or other breathing problems after using this medication; or
worsening asthma symptoms.

Less serious include:
headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, or insomnia;
sweating;
nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; or
dry mouth or throat irritation.
If you experience one of them stop using Serevent and tell your doctor as soon as possible. Also consult with your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual.

Missed dose
If you forgot to take your dose in time, please do it as soon as you remember. But do not take if it is too late or almost time for your next dose. Do not increase your recommended dose. Take your usually dose next day in the same regularly time.

Overdose
If you take more dose you need in long period of time it can lead to such symptoms as muscle cramps, chest pain, dry mouth, feeling light-headed, sleep problems, tremors, fast or irregular heartbeats, fainting, or seizure. If you experience one of them call your doctor immediately.


Storage
Store at room temperature between 59-77 degrees F (15-25 degrees C) away from light and moisture, kids and pets. Do not use after expiration term.
